CHILDRENS PARTY TIPS & HINTS

Party Supplies R Us recommend that the best party time is around 2 hours. Any longer and the party can begin to fall apart - the party should be fun for everyone, including you!

Pick the time and date for your party. Sundays are a good day because children can have extra-curricular activities on a Saturday plus a really fun party on a Sunday is a great way to end a weekend.

Try to keep the guest list to around 20 children - there are usually about 20 children in school classes.

Send invitations out 2 to 3 weeks before the party and ask parents to RSVP by 1 week before the party. No matter how many RSVP, plan your party on almost all the children attending.

Remember to list all the gifts and the names of who gave them, and write thank you notes after the party. Try to send the thank you notes to school with your child within a week of your party.

Keep an eye out for when children start to get bored of a game and end it at that time. Stay during all aspects of the party to ensure smooth running.

Fill the party bags and label them before the party.

Some children may arrive late, greet them happily, making each feel the party is even better now that they have arrived.  "Confiscate" any "dangerous" props brought to the party - a pirate sword is very cool, but if it hits another guest (by accident, of course) it can be bad. All items will be returned at the end of the party.

Parents who stay want to help - ask for it graciously and accept it gratefully.

Food for Adults

Party Supplies R Us recommend that you don't forget to provide some food and drink for the adults who stay and have probably spent the entire morning/afternoon getting their child ready for the party and buying a present!

Tips from an Entertainer

Remember, if you are having an entertainer not to distribute food, drinks, balloons or noise makers just before or during the show.
